Creative Matters Art Intensive Days at Schools

Creative Matters is offering a new opportunity for teachers and their students - a day long customised visual arts experience to fit in with your learning focus, make links with literacy and your curriculum.

Our experienced art educators and teachers can contribute to your classroom programme by providing an unforgettable art intensive through a different lens, sharing their knowledge of the visual arts.

We can create a customized session with you to meet the needs of your children and your programme and model how to develop a rich creative process that values individuality. The best practical and wonderful learning experience for your students.

Grey Lynn School Art Day

Our first Art Day was at Grey Lynn School with 86 year 3 and 4 ākonga with lead teacher Kate Ginders: "Having previously worked with Creative Matters, we thought it would be amazing if she could work with the children. We got in touch to see if this would be something that might work, after communicating over some time, we reached an outcome that worked for all."

Kate booked this session with the intention that the children in her team of 3 classes would "develop an understanding of a process towards creating a final art piece and be 'ignited' for further learning in the arts."

• Exploring an artist's work and examples of an artistic genre and making links with literacy:

• Experimenting with ideas through drawing, sharing and reflecting

• Creating drawings and cutting out symbols that express identity using mixed media, linking to the idea of Still Life and artist Georges Braque's still life work

PRICING AND MORE INFO:

$550 +GST for the day, which includes all communications, customised planning and your experienced art educator from 9am - 3pm.

30 mins additional set-up and pack-down / clean-up time is included. High quality brushes for the session are provided by Creative Matters.

SET-UP & MATERIALS:

• The school is to source and provide all other materials, we can send a list & suggested suppliers.

• Teachers are to have the classroom & set-up prior to our educator's arrival, Creative Matters can submit a list of suggestions.

NUMBER OF STUDENTS:

Suitable for up to 30 children per session - year 3 - year 8 students.

We can facilitate shorter sessions for mixed or larger groups as required.

More children may be accommodated depending on teacher's participation and support.
