TERM 4 2021: We are delighted to be able to offer a number of options for Creative Matters at Home online classes this term. Your teacher will be Mandy, the CEO of Creative Matters. Mandy is a primary teacher and art educator with over 30 years experience and also a practising artist.

You can book one class a week for an extended period for $10 per class with a new project every 2 weeks or a 2 week module for $25. We offer a 50% discount for the second or third child from the same family. Tuesdays or Wednesdays 3.30pm - 5pm.  For children aged 5 - 13.

Many of our children attend our after school art class term after term and it becomes one of their 'happy places' where they feel cared for, creative and happy. Mandy can create the same atmosphere and positive vibe for your children with our online face to face interactive classes, at a significantly reduced cost. You could even get a group of friends to join a class together!

We develop a rich creative process of exploring artists and art movements; learning and developing specific art techniques and skills; experimenting with ideas and design; reflecting and sharing ideas; creating the artwork; designing and decorating using different techniques.

After the teaching we will spend the rest of the session designing or making together. This is a lovely time for children to get creative in a supportive environment where they can ask questions if they need to, be guided to extend their creative and critical thinking, share their work, be inspired by the work of others and learn along the way. Children will feel motivated to continue with their creative projects started in class throughout the week, ready to share at the next class.

What do parents need to do?

Not alot! Just join up to our Google Classroom page for all the info, set up your child on a computer at the class time with the materials you have been asked to supply, click the link to the Zoom class that will be emailed to you and walk away! Or join in if you'd like to! (Many materials can be easily found at home and some may need to be ordered, in which case you'll be given a list well in advance.)

Module 4 starts Tuesday November 30th or Wednesday Dec 1st Create a cool 3D sculpture in a letter shape or any shape of your choice and decorate it! WEEK 1: We will explore and experiment with different shape ideas for our sculptures and do some drawing to help us come up with ideas and our final design. We will learn how to make a 3D sculpture out of cardboard, paper cups and masking tape and then we will learn paper maché techniques and cover the sculpture with paper maché to make it strong with a smooth surface. You will need to finish this work during the week, ready for week 2. WEEK 2: We will explore different ways to design and paint your sculpture. You will create your final design and finish with painting your sculpture.
